Who these terms are from
This website is published by Equibridge Attorneys ("EBA", "we", "us"), a law firm at 18 Godab Estate, Lifecamp, Abuja. By using this site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use it.
We are a Nigerian law firm and our lawyers are subject to the Rules of Professional Conduct for Legal Practitioners and to the regulatory oversight that applies to legal practice in Nigeria. Nothing in these terms displaces those duties, and nothing in them limits any right you have that cannot lawfully be limited.
This site is information, not advice
Everything here — the practice area descriptions, the notes on our process, the material on any class action, the legal provisions we quote — is general information about the firm and about the law. It is not legal advice on your situation, and it is not a substitute for taking advice on the facts of your own matter.
No lawyer–client relationship until we say so
Reading this site, sending us an enquiry through the contact form, or registering interest in a group action does not make you a client of this firm. A lawyer–client relationship begins only when we have carried out our onboarding checks, agreed the scope with you, and issued an engagement letter.
- Do not send us anything confidential or time-critical through this site before we have accepted the brief. An unread enquiry does not stop a limitation period running.
- An enquiry may be declined. We may be unable to act because of a conflict, because the matter is outside our practice, or for any other proper reason.
The case tracker
tracker.html is a demonstration. Every matter, party, name, date and figure on it is invented sample data, published so that prospective clients can see how the tool works. It is not a real client's ledger and never has been.
- A live tracker is released only after a client has been onboarded and the necessary payments made, and is reached with issued credentials rather than a button.
- Where a tracker is opened to claimants in a group action, it shows that action's progress and nothing about any other matter.
- Credentials we issue are personal to you. Do not share them, and tell us at once if you think they have been compromised.
Class action registrations
From time to time we publish a call for expressions of interest in a group action on our class actions page. These terms apply to it.
- Registering is free and commits you to nothing. It tells us you were affected and lets us assess whether a viable group exists.
- It is not an instruction to act. You do not become our client by registering, and we do not become responsible for your claim or for any limitation period affecting it. We will tell you plainly, before anything is filed, if that is about to change.
- Give us accurate information. A group claim is only as sound as the material behind it. Do not register a claim you know to be false; we may decline or remove any registration we cannot verify.
- No outcome is promised. Nothing on the page is a prediction or a guarantee of any result, of any sum, or that an action will be filed at all.
- Allegations remain allegations. Matters we describe as the subject of a proposed action are contentions to be determined by a court, not findings.
What happens to the personal data you give us is set out in section 06 of our privacy policy.
Third-party services and links
Some things this site points you at are run by other people, and their terms — not ours — govern them:
- Your own email provider carries a class action expression of interest to us — registering opens a pre-written message in your mail application rather than submitting anything through this site.
- Font and icon providers serve the typefaces and icons the pages use.
- LawDigits, our consultancy arm, is a separate website with its own terms.
- Any other site we link to. A link is not an endorsement, and we are not responsible for what is on the other end of it.
What belongs to whom
The text, layout, design, crest and other material on this site belong to Equibridge Attorneys or are used with permission. You may read, print and share pages for your own information. You may not republish them commercially, present them as your own, or use our name or crest in a way that suggests we are associated with you when we are not.
Statutes, regulations and judgments quoted here are public legal material and are reproduced as such. If you believe anything on this site infringes your rights, tell us and we will look into it promptly.
Availability, accuracy and liability
We take care with this site, but we do not promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted or free of error, and we may change or withdraw any part of it without notice.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on the general information on this site, from any interruption to it, or from any third-party service it links to. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including for fraud, or for any liability arising under a retainer we have actually accepted.
Governing law
These terms, and any dispute arising out of them or out of your use of this site, are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and are subject to the jurisdiction of the Nigerian courts.
Changes to these terms
The law moves and so does our practice; these terms change with them. The revision date at the top of the page reflects the current version. Where a change materially affects clients or registered claimants, we tell them directly rather than relying on them to notice.
